When I first started the BodyBAM program I was overweight and struggled to do many of the basic exercises like lunges. I found it very hard, and sometimes felt because I couldn’t do things properly that I wasn’t going to get anywhere, but Avril kept encouraging me and focussing on my progress instead. A year later I had lost almost 30kg and was able to do all of the advanced exercises. BodyBAM has completely changed my life. After this achievement, I found a new confidence that I really can do anything and even went back to university to chase my dreams! Three years later I’m still going strong!

My problem area had always been my legs and stomach; I had done so many other training programs before and I had lost a little bit of weight and toned up, but overall my legs were actually feeling bulkier and even though my stomach was leaner, I still didn’t have a nice waist shape and couldn’t quite completely get rid of my gut. It’s no exaggeration, my experience with BodyBAM really has improved my life in general not just my fitness levels.  I’ve tried a few fitness programs and went to the gym around 3 -5 times a week but I found the BodyBAM workouts far more effective than other fitness routines.  Although I liked being active I used to hate the treadmill and could only run for maybe a quarter of a mile before I’d take a break to start walking. I can now run 2-3 miles without stopping and enjoy every second of it! I also feel much stronger (I couldn’t do a single push up before and now I can do 20 without stopping, on my toes!) and people constantly compliment me on how healthy I look. I love the variation in routines; there are SO many different exercises I would never even think of. I’ve never tried boxing before and it never appealed to me but the boxing workouts ended up being my favourite! The great thing about BodyBAM is that all you need is a yoga mat and the internet, all the routines can be done in your bedroom or living area, and can fit around any work schedule.  Avril sends through really motivating emails, which kept me going through out the program and the different meal plans and recipes were delicious. One of the things I love about the workout programs is that they are always different so I don’t get bored. Every day I get up excited to see what Avril has in store for me today! I started out doing BodyBAM and even though I was already doing lots of exercise I NEVER looked like this! Avril pushes your limits, gives great advice and awesome cooking ideas! I would have to say 70% of my results are from following Avril’s food plan! Before I was eating healthy but every now and then I was digging into fast food. I was weak. I love that BodyBAM is all about a balance. My biggest excuse not to do something about my body for a long time was that I could never give up my lifestyle.
